Set main display in Windows 10

Set main display in Windows 10

To change which monitor is the main one (where new windows open and all the mail desktop icons are) you need to be in the Display settings. (Right click anywhere on desktop and then select "Display Settings")

Underneath the "Rearrange your displays" section, there are a few more options.

In the “Multiple displays” option, you can select what to do with the screens (Such as duplicate, show on only 1) and there is also a tick box which allows you to set the selected screen as the main display. If this is greyed out, then the selected display is already the main one.
